The Shelter-in-Place order has been modified and extended through May 31st. The current Marin Public Health Order goes into effect on Monday May 4th, with allowances for modified construction activities.

Starting Monday, May 4th , construction work halted due to the Marin Public Health Order dated March 31, 2020, may resume when the required safety protocols are in place. Issued and permitted construction projects may commence under the strict protocols of the current Marin Public Health Order.

No new permits will be issued until after May 15th.

Inspections Information

CLICK HERE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED AND POSTED PRIOR TO ALL INSPECTIONS!

Inspections will resume May 4th for projects that had scheduled inspections that were canceled the week of March 16. Starting Thursday, May 7th, all inspections will be scheduled through eTrakit. Please read the health order and safety protocol appendixes before scheduling inspections or resuming your work. Per the current health order, all projects are required to designate a site supervisor responsible for implementing safety protocols. The designated site supervisor must be present at the time of inspection. 

Failure to implement any required safety protocols will result in a stop-work notice, with the understanding that construction activity will not resume without the permission of the Building Official. These are not recommendations. These are requirements for the job site. Violation of or failure to comply is a misdemeanor punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.

For now, Town Hall will remain closed to the public. The Building Department will continue to accept permits; however, review times may be longer than average. For questions not addressed here, please contact permits@townofsananselmo.org.
